[edit] Who’s doing this now?

From our consultations, it appears that no one knows of anyone else who's already doing what we're doing. Hard to believe, so if you know of other people, groups, or sites with similar aims and methods, please link to them from here.

[edit] Progress prior to launch

We've scheduled a project orientation (to be held on 11/11) and set up the registration process, drafted an invitation, promoted the event on online sites, requested non-profits to submit story ideas, recruited volunteers who are active in writer & tech groups in the area, emailed educators in 60 high schools and colleges, consulted with influentials in the non-profit, tech, academic, and media fields, and drafted a mockup of the main page and story pages.
