From Silicon Valley Commons

Wikia Project : Silicon Valley Commons - founded July 19 2006 as a community for service-oriented organizations & people engaged in good work for the Silicon Valley. It aims to facilitate cooperation among them, promote their efforts, and make it easier for potential donors and volunteers to find causes to support.

I started this community as a consequence of my own search for ways to serve. I couldn’t find a site that focused on public-spirited organizations in the Silicon Valley, so I decided to create one. I have some experience in service, having at various times been a Red Cross volunteer, an evangelist, a student leader, a union organizer, an organizer of farming cooperatives, an activist for mountain tribes, an environmentalist, and a corporate lobbyist.
